Sisu Axles Inc. – Data Privacy Statement

General

Sisu Axles Inc. (Sisu Axles) is committed to protecting personal data. We collect personal data only for specified, relevant and legally allowed purposes. We consider all personal data as confidential and pay highest attention that no personal data is shared outside of Sisu Axles’ without permission of the person him/herself. We can use personal data provided to us for any of the purposes described in this privacy policy or as otherwise stated at the point of collection.

Purpose and legal basis for the processing of personal data

Personal data in the register is processed for the following purposes: management and care of the customer relationship, sales and marketing, opinion and market surveys, developing customer relationships and the relevant business, and other for other similar purposes. The legal basis for processing personal data is the performance of a contact between the parties and the data controller’s legitimate interest in managing and developing its customer relationships and in marketing its products.

Personal data collected

The following information concerning contact persons is collected:

  • Name, Company, Phone number, Email address
  • Other information potentially given by the customer itself, the correspondence between the parties and similar information.

Personal data is primarily obtained only from the data subject him/herself.

IT systems processing the data

The information is primarily stored in the data controller’s ERP system, customer management system, in emails or on network drives. Access to these systems is limited to Sisu Axles’ personnel only.

Storage of the data

Personal data that is no longer needed is removed from email systems within six months. Data that is no longer necessary or out of date is removed from the ERP system as necessary and according to Sisu Axles’ data management policies. The data may be accessed only by Sisu Axles’ personnel. Each person having access to the data has a personal username and password. The data is physically stored on servers owned by Sisu Axles’ data storage supplier. The servers have been protected by necessary technical and organisational measures.

Transfers of data outside the EU or EEA

By default, personal data is not transferred outside of EU or EEA. Should there be a need to transfer personal data outside of the EU or EEA, all relevant data transfer mechanisms, as stated in the GDPR regulations, are always applied. For instance, if transferring data to USA, the receiving party must be fully GDPR compliant with valid EU-US Privacy Shield -certification. No personal data is transferred outside of the EU or EEA without having the approval of the related person him/herself.

Data subject rights

In addition to other legal rights that the data subject may have, the data subject may require:

  • to inspect personal data concerning him/herself or to obtain a digital copy in a generally-used format of the same information, as well as certain other information about how the data controller processes data (see articles 15 and 20 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation);
  • the correction of errors in his or her personal data (Article 16 of the Regulation);
  • the deletion of such personal data which Sisu Axles no longer as has lawful basis to process (Article 17);
  • the restriction of personal data processing in situations like those outlined above, but in which the data subject does not want the information deleted and in some cases where the data subject is awaiting the data controller’s decision concerning another request (Article 18 of the Regulation)

To the extent some specific data processing is based on a consent given by the data subject, the data subject has the right to withdraw that consent at any point. This does not affect the legality of any data processing prior to this, however.

Should a data subject wish to exercise any of the abovementioned rights, he or she can contact the data controller using the contact details provided above. The data controller will respond to any requests as soon as possible. Should the data controller refuse the request, it will state its reasons for this.

Should the data subject consider that the data controller has processed personal data in a manner contrary to law, the data subject may under Article 77 of the Regulation lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisor in his or her home country, or in the country where he or she works.
